I think the first is hogweed (not the poisonous giant one)

The first looks like a sow thistle and the second looks like Valerian (Centranthus ruber)

Hi, that's the one I couldn't think of Sue, common hogweed, Heraclium sphondylium, still don't recognize the second photo though, but I think the leaves are wrong for Centranthus ruber, Derek.

First one looks like one of the sow-thistles, hogweed leaves look more like parsnips.
Recognise the second but don't recall the name.
