These are the dead ones, but my garden is inundated with these, are these cut worms. I have nothing in my garden (i.e. plants) as its a new build property but had had lots of top soil delivered last year. How do I kill these as everywhere under the soil. these will killed with hot water

Hi Moon Grower, many thanks for this I have updated with a picture of live ones. Pretty creppy as they are everywhere and living just underneath the top layer of soil

Hi Dab and welcome to GoY. Could you try taking a photo of some live ones. They aren't cutworms which are the caterpillar of Noctuidae moths.
