I have been given a WISTERIA brachybotrys 'White Silk'. It is currently in a container but I would like to plant it next to a new Pergola we are building. Is there any particular compost or preparation that I need to use when I plant it out?

not as far as I am aware. However make the planting hole at least twice as big as the pot it is coming out of. mix the soil you've dug out with some compost and use this as a backfill when you plant the wisteria. don't forget to water it well for several weeks especially if there is little/no rain.
