I have just bought a bare rooted snowy mespilus (amelanchier) just wondering if anyone has used the berries for jams,pies etc?

I don't know how big your Amelanchier is but you will need quite a few bushes/trees to get enough for a pie. Besides the wood pigeons and blackbirds will have them first as soon as they become ripe. I would also get it planted asap as I think it is a bit late for bare rooted.
