I have had a Leucothoe Rainbow for about 5 years and it's getting rather leggy. I've read that it's best not to prune but I though a little tidy up would be ok. It's about 3 ft in height and the same in width. If I am ok to prune when would be best time.

RHS advice is not to prune as it is a Group 1 shrub if you really feel the need then late winter early spring is the time for a very gentle tidy up, so probably a bit late for this year.

I'd say when it's dormant. So November-ish.

How do I say thanks?
