I bought some sweet pea seeds at Malvern Show last year and only 2 seeds germinated.Do I contact the firm and inform them of the poor germination rate or put it all down to bad luck?My other sweet pea seeds, bought from a garden centre, were fine.

contact them. If they are a reputable supplier they will replace them.
If not, and they say you should have soaked them, or chitted them first, tell them it isn't necessary. And say you've grown that variety before with no problems.
Don't be fobbed off.
