As previously said, I have moved into this bungalow and I am waiting to see what appears in these very thriving garden borders. I have raspberry plants growing and these are popping up in the side border which I think is a veg/fruit border. Any ideas?

Looking at Owdboggys corrected pictures above it sort of reminds me of Chinese lanterns, Physalis alkekengi, but I am probably wrong.

Thanks, I think you are right as there were the odd lantern about on the ground when we moved in in March. So glad you have helped me. I will dig some out and pass them around to family.
