I have two acer brilliantissum trees 5 foot tall and planted last winter, they have come into leaf but suddenly most of the leaves have curled up and are dropping off. Any ideas.

Couple of things - if you were in the South, I'd be asking whether you've watered them - new trees need a minimum of 2 gallons a week during spring summer and autumn in their first two years. Assuming that's not it, did you have a warm April followed by sudden fall in temperature with accompanying frost? If so, that could have caught the leaves and made them shrivel like this - new leaves are susceptible in this way when the climate plays tricks.
