My husband has started his begonia bulbs in compost.He has now starting to put them into planters. he has found little white grubs under each one and we are wondering what they are

Could be Vine weevils - are they small, C shaped and whitish yellow? They love begonia corms and will bury into them making lots of holes and killing the corm.

Thank you both he thought that it it might be vine weevils.He is taking them out and getting rid of them. It is lovely to be able to get advice from such friendly people.

If they have reddish/brown heads then they are vine weevil grubs. Wash all the compost off the tubers before planting in different compost and put the old compost in the rubbish bin.
