anemone colour change

when we moved to our new house the garden was full of pink anemones next year and for the following four years they were all white any reason for this colour change

Do you mean the Japanese ones that flower in August? I am surprised that they've all changed colour - if it had been one plant it might have been a 'sport' - an oddity - but all of them changing seems a bit strange. Are they healthy otherwise? No signs of virus?
