Yes, an Aquilegia. It comes in many colours, and varying heights. A most beautiful cottage garden perennial. Yours is lovely.

Definitely aquilegia (altrnative name Granny's bonnet). An old fashioned cottage garden flower which re-seeds itself. I've had various coloured ones in my garden now for around 15 years and they never fail to give a good display.

I don't believe it !
The landlord came round today and did some weeding. He tore up the aquilegia - destroyed it. Glad I'm leaving here in a coupe of weeks.
