What's eating my runner beans?

Please can anyone tell me what's eating my runner beans? I have an idea it's slugs. Also, whatever it is, what should I do about it? Many thanks

ants, no sign of slime so its not slugs and snails

Thanks for the response. I hadn't thought of it being ants..... I wonder what I can do to stop them.
