I have a red oriental poppy in the front garden. It is in bud and should be open any day. I will take a photo then and send it to you and if you like it I will save you some seeds and a root.

I saw this one in a garden at Scotter and I suppose failing all else I could go and knock on their door and ask, just seemed a bit cheeky and then again they might not know what it was called, if they are anything like me and my brain cell. lol. :O)

hello, I cant answer your question but my neighbour's red oriental poppy has been flowering for a week or so now, puts mine to shame, the flowers are a gorgeous red and as big as saucers, when I see her at the weekend I'm going to ask for seed, I'll try and find out the name too.

my Beauty of Livemore is a definite red as opposed to Allegro which is scarlet and a ggod colour but orangey red.

Thanks for that Seaburngirl, I did look at them both so difficult to tell which are reds and which are orangey from photographs though.

Michaella, think it is Allegro which I have, nearly red but not quite. lol. I have a few of those now scattered all over the garden, the rain is ruining them though. Hoping for a bit better day today, thank you so much for posting pictures though, at least I now know which one I have got already. lol :O)
