I'd go for 6-8 with plenty of space for them to spread.

My brother in law planted them last year and he put 4/5 in. So I have done the same this year. And put 4 in a 12 in basket. Hope they fill out. They look wonderful when they are in full bloom.

I had a sale price basket from Homebase last year, 14 inches. It had six in it and was the best basket I have ever had. I did put a thin layer of fresh compost on top every so often. They were all different colours and absolutely marvellous
