should I take the seed heads off my Royal Wedding poppy and if so when and how do I store them

If you take a seedhead off a poppy before it's ready, then you won't get ripe seeds. You have to catch it when it's just turning into a 'pepperpot' and tie a paper bag over the seedhead, to catch the seeds.
Members have been discussing propagating oriental poppies by root cuttings earlier in the season, too.
