We have a variegated grass type plant a bit like a Yucca, it is about 3' across and 5' high and it has now sprouted 8'tall shoots or flower stems.
How can I find out what sort of plant it is

Well Ross, you could start by taking a photo of it and posting the picture on here. I am sure that someone will know.

Hi, welcome to GoY, it souns to me as though it could be some variety of Phormium, ie, long narrow leaves up to 5 or 6 ft, long flower spike, as Bulbaholic says, a photo would get you a better id, Derek.
