Hi this is our cherry tree and you can see there is something wrong which looks like yellow gell. the cherrys are fine at the moment but its the root that looks wrong. Can someone give advice please

I'm sorry to say it looks like bacterial canker. Usual advice is to remove the affected limb, but in this case, it seems to be the main trunk. I'd wait till you've had the cherries off it and then consider removing it.
