Hi iv got my cherries on my tree turning red nice bright red one/two nearly ready do you think I should try one is it safe lol

Hi moongrower I asked the lady who planted it can you eat the cherries and answer I got was I don't no never ate any (short and sharp answer) yes it cherry you can see by trunk and it had loads pinky/white blossoms on it ..x

I don't now of any cherry tree that bears poisonous fruit, just some are not really nice to eat. As MG suggested, try one and see what it tastes like, but you might need to wait until they are a fully ripe though.
Even if they don't taste too good raw and are tart, all is not lost. With the addition of some sugar you could use them to make a pie, cherry jam or my favourite is to make Wisniowka with them... A delicious Polish cherry vodka which is made by steeping cherries and sugar in vodka for a couple of months.

So long was it is a cherry tree there is no harm in your trying them. Need to be a dark red before they are fully ripe, sadly birds usually get them first.
