Can you recommend a Verbena for me ?
Each year I religiously plant annual Verbenas as I like them. My quite old 'Expert series' book is a bit vague about the hardiness of them as perennials (time to buy an updated version, methinks ). In the meantime can anyone recommend a blue, lilac or purple perennial Verbena ?
Thanks in advance

a shorter one is Verbena hastata and comes in a range of purples and pinks too. It seeds freely and has come through the last 3 winters.

Only one I use is Verbena bonariensis - it doesn't always make it through the winter, but I usually find several seedlings round and about every year. Trouble is, its growth habit might not suit you - very tall and spindly, but perfect for putting in between lower growing plants.
