It's a jasmine (maybe African,) low growing shrub... but can you tell me what is going on here?
After the white flowers drop, purple flowers with large tubular stigma, yellow green at the top.

I'm thinking you're right. The purple flowers (lets call them male) drop off after just one day just like the white ones.
Trying to look it up... can't find it anywhere.

How tall and wide is it? And those leaves look a bit like a succulent type leaf, are they?

I don't recognise the shrub, but I'll hazard a guess at the explanation - it may be one of those plants that carries male and female flowers, so the white ones are one sex and the purple the other
