Hemerocallis (Day Lily) is its name - divide in late summer/autumn, provided the ground isn't waterlogged, in which case, leave it till spring. Bit of a hard job digging these up and splitting them - two forks back to back once you've dug it up is the advised method, but I always use the bread knife and cut the clump in half, finding digging the clump up exhausting enough without wrestling with two forks afterwards...

looks like a red day lily.when spring is over you can split the lillys up from the base when other bulbs are growing but dont reley on my awnser when it comes to splitting plants!
