I have a small lawn about 18 months old and the grass seems to grow in two different colours light and dark green clumps with the darker green clumps growing quicker than the light. can you suggest anything I can do to remedy this? thanks

Yes, uneven application of lawn feed has this effect.

have you applied any granular feed to your lawn? Are the darker green clumps different in other ways - coarser, for instance, or does it look different at the base? Was your lawn from turf, and was proper preparation carried out before it was laid (meaning was it all thoroughly dug over and any buried debris and weed grasses and pernicious weed roots removed)?
