Hi I have a beautiful "Blue Bell" clematis it is 6 feet tall and very bushy. Sadly planted in the wrong place as I didn't realise when I bought it how fast it would grow or how big. At the time of purchase it lacked label or information and cost me £1 what a bargain. My question is what is it's latin name and can it be moved.. thanks

Clematis integrifolia has mid-blue bell flowers (perhaps the 'Blue bell' explains the wrong idea about it?) and it grows about 2ft tall, so once you let it lay on the ground will you still need to move it? It comes in pruning group 3 which will bring it back to a manageable size each year in the autumn or spring.

Yes I will still need to move it Drc it is over 7feet tall at mo the intension when I planted it, like most other clematis , was to have it climb the trellis fence. As we have a patio garden we haven't any where to let it run on the ground.
A thought maybe once transplanted I could lay it on stones on the fence bottom?. Thank you

I saw this recently in an NGS garden I visited and was told it is herbaceous Clematis integrifolia.
