Petunia poser
United Kingdom
Hi - the attached picture is of Petunia "Queen Bee" which gives flowers with yellow and black patterning. However one of them has come out all black.
Does anyone know if this is unusual?

Agree with Derek, not unusual at all - I have a friend growing these, and she's had all black, half yellow and black, a yellow dot or two and black, all yellow with a few black bits, really quite a large variation. This particular one doesn't seem to hold its colour patterning well.

It's also possible that you could have discovered a new hybrid. You never know, and companies like Thompson & Morgan will pay you handsomely for a new breed. See http://www.thompson-morgan.com/discover-new-plants.
A friend of mine discovered a new flower 10 years ago. He contacted T&M. After 2 years of growing the seeds and doing what they do in the lab, he became richer to the tune of £4,500 just because he had never seen that type of flower before. It's always worth a go.
