As a first time Gardner on squash I was given the seed they are now large yellow in colour when should one cut from stem.
It depends on the type you have, since squash is a generic term. Summer types should be cut when young. They will mature to hard, yellow gourds not fit for eating. Winter types are cut when the stem gets hard and tan, and the vine dies.
