Hi everyone, My Escallonia has now finished flowering, the bees & butterflies have gone. Would it be okay to prune it now? I only want to prune the branches growing outward. I don't want it growing out covering my lawn. I want it to grow up to about 5/6 feet.

I tend to agree with what Christopher Lloyd said - the right time to prune is when you're in the garden and you have the secateurs in your hand! I think the only exception to this is if you then cut off the bits that are going to flower - but even then, if flowers are not the priority...

I used to prune as and when I needed to,it still bounced back,but they do need to be kept under control..I would go for it,Treetop :o)
