I accidentally snapped one of the stems on my fuschia. Will rooting powder work, or is it a lost cause?

Thanks in advance

Remove the flowers and nip out the top, strip back the lower two pairs of leaves, snip of about half an inch of stem (so you have a bit of stem about an inch long) shove it in a container full of water so the bare stem is in the water, but the few leaves left are not. It may well root.
