I have a Magnolia Susan which is about 5 years old. It has flowered well earlier this year and is now full of dark green glossy leaves. Much to my surprise is is now beginning to flower again! It also has many more new buds forming so will obviously have flowered twice this year. Is this usual?

Not usual, but not uncommon. Our Susan sometimes has a second flush of flowers in early autumn.
