How safe is it to use chicken manure pellets, the sort bought in tubs from the garden nursery?
Also how often should I use it?

Pretty much anywhere but don't overdo it on things you want to fruit as Snoopdog says as flowers and fruit plants produce leaf at the expense of flowers with a lot of N and not enough potassiun.

Well, actually folks, the nitrogen content of these pellets isn't high at all, its usually only about 4. An average NPK for manure pellets is roughly 4-2-2, so not that high in nutrients. Growmore granules are around 7-7-7, so you can see the difference.
The thing to watch for is not to get the pellets directly against your plants or plant roots - they can burn them if in direct contact.

Thank you Bamboo - another misconception sorted! I have half a tubful in the shed but never think of using it, I don't know why.Just got used to seeing it sitting there. It must have been there half empty for about 20 years - heavens it sounds a lot put like that. Must get it out, sling it around and use the space for something else!

I don't use the pellets on any acid loving plants as they raise the PH in the soil.

I use these everytime I plant a plant into the garden and no other time I seem to get better than average results most of the time. Friends and neighbours are always remarking that they have "a plant like that" and want to know why mine is so much bigger bushier and so on.
Chicken pellets are all that is different

Not on veg snoopdog on my Roses, Escallonia & Hydrangea. It was recommended for my Escallona. That's why I bought it. It says on the tub can be used for all plants (but I'm not sure about that).
