This is quite tall for spuds. They may just be a tall variety. I hope that you have earthed them up?

Have you been giving them too much nitrogen in fertiliser or other feed? Remember that too much green top growth usually results in smaller and fewer tubers. It could just be the wet and warm spring/early summer, as even here in France our spuds are much taller and greener than normal.
