My son has given me a lot of soil dug up by moles. Is the soil good to use, it has a lot of sand in it.

Many folk find it good because it is well mixed. If you find it too sandy for what you need you can always add something else to it. Exactly what soil they dig up depends totally on what sort of soil you have so perhaps your son's garden as a whole would benefit from some extra humus.
