Hi folks, it's me again. My Escallonia has now completely finished flowering. What I would like to know is do I need to remove the dead flower heads? There are hundreds of them, if I have to do it I need to spend a few hours in the garden whilst we have a bit of a dry spell.

Hi Steragram, it's iveyi (spelling) It has a honey fragrance and the bees & butterflies adore it.

I had Iveyi and it held onto the dead flowers for ages and looked unsightly so I cut mine off.

Looks like a good one.

Yes Jimmy I agree they do look a little unsightly. But as long as it's not harming the Escallonia then I can suffer it.
