woke this morning to find one of dads plants dumped in my garden again,its a fig called brown turkey and i have not a clue what to do with it,does it need sun,do i take it out of its pot and do i feed it something special,thanks all chris

if i could get it to you nosey i would,tell you what swap a puppy for some lettuce seeds,im sure thats fair lol,thanks bamboo,now all i have to do is buy a compass,i dont want fruit realy,i dont like figs

Now, now Ladybug - have you ever eaten a fresh fig? Cos I always said eugh, I don't like figs - until someone gave me a fresh one, and it was delicious.
Also, you can tell if its south facing or not without a compass - sun comes up in the east, goes down in the west, so if the sun's on your right when it comes up, that means your garden is north facing, if on the left, its south facing.

Hmm, now that I don't fancy, Bertiefox - if it tastes anything like the filling in fig rolls, that's just how I hate figs to be!

ok bamboo hope this is right my house is hot,sun on the back all day,north faceing and front all day south faceing,its bakeing my garden i know that,mmm might try the figs if i get some,do i plant it in the ground or restrict its roots

If you have a nice sunny wall, plant it in front of that and train it up the wall - you should get great fresh figs off it if the wall is south facing. They need hard pruning in winter, can be grown in a large pot, but the growths are quite floppy and need some kind of support.
