how hard should I prune my wisteria in order that it will flower next year? I think I over pruned it last year (it grows into next door's garage) and haven't had a single bloom!

I sympathise, Dawn. My wisteria behaves like a gatecrasher as well. Standard advice is back to 5 buds at the end of summer, then back to three in spring. In practice, I just cut mine back to where I want it to be. It is so unruly, I can't tell how many buds I've left! It usually flowers reasonably well, but it's inconsistent. Probably my pruning is, too.

How do I say thanks?
