Poorly Niobe Clematis

Never bloomed this season brown leaves.

Do you think I should prune it back to base of plant?

Or do you think I have lost it ?

Hi Kath, I think I would prune it back as you suggest, have a look at the roots, and do the scrape test, check the moisture of the soil, if it doesn't produce new growth next spring, you can dig it out then, Derek.

Thank you Derek

I shall prune back then and leave and see if she re grows.

Last year I accicently pruned my Waser Nike and thought I had totally lost it.

But she bloomed ever so well this year

In the corner where Niobe is I have a few different clematis and they are all growing ever so well just poorly Niobe.

How do I say thanks?
