i have a customer with a 7ft mature daphne the scent is fantastic and as a gardener i admire it every time i cut there lawns recently they sold up and hve told me i can have has new owners are clearing all out i have until end of next wk if i dig enough root ball out what compost and feed would you recommend so that it has good chance was going to use john innis multi with blood and bone but if there are better options will do

Can you imagine clearing all the shrubs without having seen them flower? Breaks your heart doesn't it? I hope your transplanting is successful.

I think you have the right idea. As much rootball as possible, minimal disruption, then good compo, a scatter of BF&B and a really good soaking. I would expect it to sulk for a year or so - given the size - so it might just sit still and do nothing... But so worthwhile to save a beautiful Daphne like that..
