hi there ,i am training a climbing rose at app; 45%on canes , a couple of the branches are getting longer than the canes , should i lop them off or leave them alone .also on 2 of the branches there are upright shoots about 18" high, same question. thanks in advance. grandadpic

They flower better if trained horizontally so perhaps put in a couple of extra canes and bend the shoots over. Different roses grow to differing heights - do you know what yours is?

That one will grow to 5 metres tall so your canes are not really going to be enough to support it - in addition to the height the canes themselves will need support as the rose gets bigger and heavier.
