Fife, United Kingdom

I bought a fox tail Lilly Cleopatra yesterday. I had planned to buy as a bulb but instead came home with a pot which had been allowed to become dormant. Now I need help. I would like to grow it in a pot. I live in Fife Scotland so can be very cold. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Plant now - choose the sunniest, most well drained spot you've got. Dig over the ground first and put a layer of grit in the bottom of the hole, then put the contents of the pot on top, with the top of the soil only just under the surrounding soil. Cover with some mulch or something to help keep out the winter cold. This particular one is hardy Zones 6-9, and the lowest any part of the UK zones are is 7, with the bulk of it being 8. Note also that you should get more flower stems IF the base of the plant is in full sun - if its shaded by something growing in front, you may not get so many.
