I have a creeping virginia plant that does well at the top and the bottom but is always sparse in the middle. Is there anything I can do about this? I am unable to add a photo

prune about a 1/3 out evenly through the plant so when it grows new foliage it will fill the bare 1/3. I hope that makes sense.
