Morning
Another question, this Aloe was given to me a month ago as it was unwanted. Each day the bottom leaves look more and more lifeless and they are not plump although each week a leaf grows.
Any advice would be welcomed to bring this plant back to where it should be.
Thanks

Aloe are succulent plants which store water in their fleshy leaves. If the leaves of yours aren't plump enough then this could be lack of water.
Lack of water could also be due to something going on in the soil and damaging the roots, like grubs as Snoopdog suggested. However, as you have said that it's growing a leaf a week, I doubt that the problem is with the roots.
How much water are you giving it? Mine are still outside where they have been since May. They get lots of rain water, the soil is always wet and they are doing well. I cut down on the water only during the winter months.

Could it just be old growth dieback which just requires removal of the outer ring of older leaves?

I've grown various aloe for many years and Ive never encountered the leaves dying back. So I'm not so that this happens Boggy.

I thought too much water as well. Don't water it until its quite drey and even then don't soak it. They are semi desert plants.
