I have just been given some seeds from an Evening Primrose plant. I would like this flower to grow in large pots but I am not sure about when to plant out the seeds in order for them to flower next year. Any advice please on how to start them off, either now or next spring. I presume the seeds start off in a large pot indoors and then they are to be pricked out and potted on but I really need to know when to start this procedure. Alternatively, can the seeds go straight into the large pot now?

Many thanks to Spritzhenry and Snoopdog for your answers. Either method seems o.k. and I'm glad they are easier plants to deal with than I first thought. So pleased to hear that they will last forever, with care and attention as they are beautiful flowers.

Best sown in early spring if you want the babies in pots.
