id like to try this plant sonchus fruticosus from maderia its quite mild here in surrey and like to give it a go but cannot find it offered anywhere so far

It doesn't look any different to Taraxacum officinale to me, which is readily available in the UK and not at all fussy about mild climates.

Sonchus fruticosus needs temperatures above 10 deg C - where you are may be mild, but unless you're in a peculiar situation, the likelihood of not experiencing temperatures at that or well below in winter is vanishingly small.

Dandelion was my first impression too because of the leaves, but the flowers are a bit different! Lots of similar yellow dandelion/daisy like flowers that are happy in the UK though?

It doesn't look much different to our native Sonchus arvensis, you could try that - but it does spread about somewaht.
