I'm looking for a hardy aster with blue flowers. Most of those that use the word 'blue' in the description are actually mauve. Does anyone grow a true blue aster please?

Hi Andrew, I don't actually have these, but I think these may be what you're looking for.
A cordifolius, A fricartii 'wunder von stafa', A novi belgii 'blue gown'
A novi belgii 'Marie Ballard', A novii belgii ' professor Anton Kippenberg', Derek.

Aster Autumn Jewels 'Sapphire' is a true blue colour and hardy.

Hi, Aster Sunhelene is like a mildew resistant Marie Ballard and Aster Blue Danube (which is v similar to Blue Eyes) is very blue too, but I find most of the Blues start blue in bud but get sl mauve as they age.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think all 'blue' asters look OK until you put them beside a real blue flower, then they look mauve.

How do I say thanks?
