I successfully grew loads of chillies last year, and have some growing in a big pot this year. I just use multipurpose compost and feed them with tomato food. I'm a bit of a novice at this "growin your own", so not sure if there is a particular feed for them - but it worked for me last year, and so far so good this year!

you are quite right Veggie its a high potash feed whigh encourages flowers, but do not use it on the Acers,

I always use tomato feed on my vine plants, as soon as the fruit starts to set until the last one is to be picked!
