I have a leptopermum cascade (pink) which I am trying to plant. It can be windy here and I need advice as to how to stake it. The stem is about 4.5ft but quite thin still. We live in Burnham on Crouch. Can you advise please.

Krys, is this a "standard"--i.e., a tree-like form with a trunk and a weeping top? If so, it probably will need staking, possibly for life.

the question isn't how you should stake it, but where you can plant it that's very sheltered, out of wind and as sunny as possible - these plants aren't entirely hardy in the UK, but will survive outside if they're in an average winter in a sheltered, sunny spot. In which case, it shouldn't need staking at all.
