I recently purchased a Japanese Maple and planted it in a slightly windy position. It has been well watered in but all the leaves are turning brown at the edges. The weather has been particularly hot. Help!!

Sorry, Philip, but two of the conditions it has don't suit it. Most Acers prefer a sheltered site - out of direct sun, and definitely sheltered from the wind.
I think you need to move it ASAP.
