My neighbour has a solanum, it has bluey purple flowers, is this a poisonous plant and if so are any berries it may have poisonous to.

Answers

Yes it is poisonous and the berries should never be eaten. The only solanum fruit I know of that is safe to eat is the tomato.

Sounds like climbing Bittersweet. Very toxic.

If its Solanum jasminoides, S. jasminoides 'Glasnevin' (blue flowers) then its nowhere near as toxic as other nightshades - its not an internal poison, nor a dermatological one, tastes awful anyway, isn't edible, and may cause severe to moderate internal upset if ingested.

How do I say thanks?
