We bought this plant 8 yrs ago & planted it into an area where we had laid stones on top of earth. Suddenly this year for the first time it has produced the most amazing flowers. We did not know that this particular plant could come into bloom like this. Will it continue to bloom every year? We do not know what the name of the plant is. Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

This is a plant that liked our warm weather this summer. If we get another hot summer, it will flower again. But if we get an indifferent one, it may not.

Yucca gloriosa variegata. Hardy and the flowers have a pleasant scent. Every garden should have one or 3.

And preferably where you are not going to get stabbed every time you walk past it. The points on the leaves are extremely sharp.

Hi, welcome to GoY, I agree, Yucca gloriosa variegata, but not completely hardy, only frost hardy, meaning it can withstand temperatures down to about 23f, Derek.
