Peony rose transplant.
During recent garden renovation I dug up a peony and placed it in a large pot. As I expected the foliage died down but this morning I noticed buds appearing in the soil. So , what to do now. Will it survive in a pot over winter? I have a place ready for it in the garden, so should I plant it now whilst it's still mild weather.
Thanks to all you experts out there in anticipation.

Better planted whilst the soil is still warm. Don't bury those new buds, they need cold to make them flower. Good rich soil too.

Plant it now if you can, not too deeply. But it will survive in a pot, as long as it doesn't get so wet that it rots.
