hi there have bit of a problem ... i planted lots of tulips and daffs in my garden borders now they have finished and the leaves can be cut back i would like to leave the bulbs in situ will they be ok anb flower next year . the only problem now is planting perennials because i cant remove bulbs to make room for them as i think i would damage them if i plant perennials over the bulbs will the bulbs manage to grow through them next spring ... new to gardening and am worried that the plants will suffer ... thanks for any advise alison

hi there dorjac many thanks will see how it all goes as im disabled digging up is more difficult than planting so best to leave them and hope they come up again .

In a small garden it is difficult to know what to do. Bulbs can go undisturbed between established plants, and be left alone they will be there in spring before the plants regrow. I leave my daffs in and leave that patch free. Tulips a mixture of take up and leave in according to placement. Old tulip bulbs might give a decent show if taken up.....then there maybe a no show. You get to know what is best for your gardening style with experience.
